Artist's Statement

Pete Moulthrop aka "Bearded Tales Of Woe" is an illustrator and sculptor whose work is a combination of humor and the macabre. 

His illustrations use images of monsters, people in masks, and costumes to convey simple narratives and delight viewers.

His sculpture is a combination of natural/found objects and simple materials such as cloth, tape, wire and paint, all used to create an anthropomorphic feeling of life in the object. 

He finds inspiration in hiking mountains, retro films, sci-fi, toy art, cookies & most sweets, and noticing small fun details in things.
